In The Bleak Mid Winter Part 1...

The weather has turned wilder with strong and chilly winds and all it has done in the last week or so is constantly rain. In Scotland, where I am based we usually get snow, but it has not arrived yet. The afternoons seem so short when we have rehearsals and I end up walking home in the dark at 5pm! But all of a sudden I am at the end of November with so many great things I have committed myself to do as a musician...
I have a few groups that I will be playing piano in for the next couple of days as well as singing in a local choir for our town "switch on" for the Christmas lights. We have already been warned of heavy weather and already I am looking out all my warmest clothing as we will be standing outside in the freezing cold and singing whilst everyone goes about their business.
At the same time and in a couple of hours I have to play at a funeral in the morning, then go into school to finish off whole school work on the computers and then in the evening accompany a singer for another Christmas switch on at a local residential home. The weekend is certainly going to be a busy one for me. Sunday sees me in church sat at the defunct organ with three missing keys and two missing scales. Honestly I don't think I could have a harder life sometimes - but you know, I love playing music so I guess I have to take the rough with the smooth! Thanks for reading. (c)Nar2/Crystalvisions2015.

That would be interesting playing hymns and jumping an octave or two!

I have never been to Scotland in November but I have been to Yorkshire so I have some idea about the weather. Your schedule sounds hectic but fun.

I'm sure it's a lot bleaker up in Scotland than down here in England.

I'm a silly American. I'd love to be a mouse following you around- sure sounds charming to me.
