an ordinary friday

It is not an ordinary Friday.
Here I am, again, sitting in Costa, twiddling my thumbs and people-watching before catching my second bus of the day.
It's currently twelve minutes past eight. John Lewis is already open. The shopping centre is already filling up with people hoping to catch a bargain. The security guard has just commented on his walkie-talkie that the only busy place is Costa. This is a lie, as there are only three of us. One of my favourite shops has decided to 'cut the crap' and isn't discounting, but will be donating *so much* of their profits to charity today. I find this to be wonderful.
Maybe next year more shops will follow suit.
I hope everybody remembers their shopping bags today. All those five pennies will add up if not.
So, I'm going to leave the chaos of the city centre behind me now and travel to the little village of my MiL; there's a ten month old who needs cuddles and quality Auntie Poppylicious time!
If you're partaking in the Black Friday madness, have fun, find a bargain, don't squabble and don't fight that little old lady in the big furry ear muffs and zebra patterned scarf.
Happy Day!

@Poppylicious I thought so I think you could be asking for trouble being in the wrong place never knowing what could happen.

I'm not keen on crowds as they make me feel claustrophobic. It's only mostly tat that the shops are selling at a lower than usual price anyway!

I'm not even in the USA. I wish we in the UK could be more like you Swiss folk and not have to copy the American traditions.:)

@Poppylicious I agree, we have to keep our identities. I do not know why I thought you were in the United States, now I remember you live in the UK.
