My colleague came to office one day to show off her newly purchased handbag.
She apparently showed off to all the others who kept on wowing at the handbag.
When I came to the office, she brought the handbag over to show me, and asked me to guess the price.
I thought that she bought this bag on her recent trip to Bangkok, so I guess $10.
To be frank, the handbag really looked like a $10 handbag.
I did not realize that it was a branded bag that cost $1000.
My colleague nearly fainted when she heard the price.
The brand was clearly visible on the handbag but I never paid any attention to designer brand, so I did not recognize it.
In the end, the others had to comfort her and told her not to mind what I said.

I probably would have guessed $10 since I'm not familiar with designer names nor their special handbags. I can't even begin to imagine spending $1000 on a handbag

There are people spending much more on a handbag.
I cannot imagine why a handbag should cost so much money too.
Those who collect designer handbags usually collect ten or more handbags with each costing more than $1000.
I think that is crazy.
A handbag is not an investment, and it will not increase in value.

I have the money but no interest in buying such bags.
To me, a handbag must be functional, and it must be waterproof.
I am more likely to find such good handbag in a night market, and I will not want to pay a few thousand dollars for it.
I will use the money for other purpose.
