Turbulence

I am on a flight into New Orleans. I am comfortably seated and we are soaring above the clouds. As I begin to drift off to sleep I am jolted upright by something they call "turbulence" - that heart wrenching jerk, bump and tumble the airplane makes for whatever reason. I hate it. It is unnerving and I want it to go away but it comes back ever so often during the flight. Thankfully we landed safety. What don't you like about flying?

Undoubtedly amazing pictures. I loved the shot. Full marks to you.
I am wondering when did you write the post because you said that you were flying over the clouds. Did you have internet connectivity, when you were in the air?
Coming back to your question, I also feel jittery during turbulence in the flight and get nervous till things calm down. I understand this happens due to fast moments of clouds and the aeroplane tries to pierce through the clouds to make its way.
It's good to hear that you landed safely.

@Freelanzer I can imagine it's pretty traumatic at that point.

I try to relax when on the plane as long as it is a smooth flight, otherwise when being tossed around, no

And you don't want to be caught in the loo when it happens. It happened to me twice and I had to hold on for dear life.

That would be scary if you are travelling alone for the first time.

that is a very beautiful scene from above. it is as if I am flying with you... no, I imagine myself as "supergirl".
turbulence makes my heart skip a beat. I wish to experience that again.

@Freelanzer when I am up, I feel like I am so light that my body is floating. I want to see the world as a whole. the sea, the lights from below, and most especially the clouds.

Actually I like turbulence.
I like sudden up and down, but not when I am having coffee or eating food.
There was a time when we flew to nearby country in a small plane.
When the plane hit turbulence, it so happened that the air stewardess was serving out breakfast.
The coffee cup and plates were dancing away.
The plane was very small.
Just a single aisle with 2 seats on each side of the aisle, and the plane could not fly above the cloud.
I enjoy the experience but my friends turned white.
