There are days when we feel very moody and down.
I happen to have this mood today.
Sometimes life just seems meaningless.
It seems that we just eat, sleep and work all through our lives.
While death is a destination, it is a destination that nobody wants to go.
Yet we all must die one day. In this sense, there is not much difference how long we live. Perhaps it is better to die young, so that we do not have to suffer the pain of toothache, the pain of losing someone dear, and other pains in life.
Sometimes life just seems meaningless. Life goes on, and nobody will miss us for long after our death.

I can assure you that life has a meaning. And the meaning is entirely up to us. While pain is part of life (and sometimes it seems that it is more than we can endure) it is also part of its meaning and we learn from it.
I am not talking about any thing trascendental. Even watching a flower or getting jot from a sunny day can change your life.

Most older people have better appreciation of life.
If we are in our teens, we probably like our life better than when we are in our 20s.
I think the young people today have a very tough future, or meaningless life ahead of them.
I really hope that the economy can create more jobs for young people, so that they can find meaning in life too.

@scheng1 I have read posts about Black Friday yesterday and today and I can see that part of the problem we have is that we want too many material things. People now can fight for a lower priced gadget. Years ago, we used that same time plating with our children or talking with our friends. A second hand book could fill our heart with joy and when we finished, we handed it over to our friends.
I am sure that people can live very well with less money if they weren´t so attached to material objects. The meaning of life is in love, not in money.
Most of the people I see crying out thast they are poor have an education, are well fed, have enough clothes and not only a place to live, but a place with internet AND wifi.

@marguicha I think part of the reason is that young people are not getting jobs that are challenging and pay well.
If they work in minimum wage jobs all their life, they will feel desperate and find life meaningless too.
I think that is the reason that many young guys and gals join ISIS.
They just want a way out of the kind of life that traps them.

Yes, we tend to have such mood once in a while.
I think the best is to listen to happy songs, and then sleep it off.
Perhaps it is good that we find life meaningless at times, and that makes us think about ways to change for a better future.

Some days may feel that way. But when life seems meaningless, then that's a sign for ourselves to give meaning to life. Make a change . . . make a difference . . . be proactive and don't wait for life to do it for you. Many people have such high expectations . . . appreciate all that is and has been meaningful to you first and realize every step you make to keep going thereafter IS meaningful.

Yes, that is true.
Sometimes when life gets meaningless, it is time for a change.
i can understand why mid life crisis happens.
Many people just want to get out of the job that traps them, and they want to find meaning in life before they get too old.

@scheng1 I can understand that too. I've been there too - I know I'm not getting any younger. But I also know I have the power to change - and I am trying to take steps to get there. Maybe not big steps, but little steps are better than no steps at all.

I create my own happiness as that is the only source one has to tap. So try and do that and live one day at a time.

Feeling down and unwanted naturally happens in life. Someone wise and learned once said that it is best to store lots of memories of happy moments experienced in life so that in times of desolation one would have enough happy momories to sustain us and help us survive the pains of desolation.

Sometimes when we are very happy, and we know that happiness cannot last forever, that is the time when we get moody.
It is hard to imagine days of happiness when we have a lot of trouble, but it is easy to know that our happiness does not last forever.
Something good and bad always happen.

I think that life is meaningless, only if this life is all there is!
