I won't be around for much of today because I have a gig in Lodi CA with our Country band. I have No idea what the situation will be, or how much we're getting paid. I guess this will be a "go with the flow" kind of day for me.
Do you like it when your day has a mixture of the predictable (playing music, for me) and the unpredictable (no idea about anything else, for me)? Or do you prefer to know exactly what the agenda is?
Psychologists talk about a lack of predictability or lack of controllability being stressful. For me, today will be low in predictability (will we be in a Church? At a rec center? Outside?) but high in controllability (kick back and play familiar tunes).
Hopefully it will be more fun than stressful.

The instant I saw your discussion's title I thought of the CCR song "Lodi," with its chorus, "Oh, lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again." I hope that doesn't happen and that you have a great gig!

Why are they so low? I would argue that Bubblews was stressful for some because it decreased predictability and controllability in our lives. The psychologist in me always recommends that folks have SOME things in their lives that are entirely predictable and controllable. Sanding and refinishing my silly speakers serves that purpose for me.

@TheHorse Uhm.... You know that refinishing furniture is not the only predictable and controllable thing you enjoy doing, right? You are addicted to myLot and some of the people you have met on here, too.
Some of them might be addicted to hearing from you once in a while, as well. Ever think about that, pony? (Just curious.)

Good luck with that, @arthurchappell ! I've looked and there are no YouTube videos up for Durt Cheap!
Some of us have ask @TheHorse to show us a video of either band he plays in... We were given a polite. "No.", as well.

I have always though being a part of a band sounded like fun, much more fun then frustration. I hope you have a blast today.

I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for sharing the name of your band. Perhaps you will play in my retirement community of Laguna Woods Village someday! Have fun.

Why are you in a retirement community, @DeborahDiane ? We are too young to retire! (Yes, I know you are a day or two older than I am. I don't necessarily like to be reminded of that fact, though.)
