The 2015 display features trees decorated by 16 individuals, businesses and organizations. Area residents are encouraged to stop by the museum and enjoy the beautifully decorated trees, while sipping a cup of coffee and tasting one of the tasty Christmas treats provided. The display runs through through Dec. 23. The museum is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those viewing the Festival of Trees may vote for their favorite tree, but bring your quarters. You may vote for your favorite tree by placing a quarter per vote in the can at the base of the tree. Do you have anything like this in your town? I took this photo last year when I was at the museum.

We have often had trees supplied by local businesses etcetera, but never in such a competitive manner to raise funds.

The fund raising is really not that much as it is just a quarter but I guess it could add up to a lot.

@Marcyaz This is the best way to raise because people do not mind such a small amount, which generates a greater response and hopefully good revenue.

It is a really good idea and is fun to put a quarter or quarters in the box to vote on the best tree.

We have a festival of trees one weekend only. They charge a fee to get in and the money goes to local charities. There are lots of displays and activities for kids. Stage presentations of local children's choirs, dance groups etc. And a whole bunch of booths selling products from near and far.

There is no fee to get into the museum and it is a lot of fun. I have been to a festival of lights when I lived in Oklahoma, it was a drive thru type and it was donations when you had driven the whole area, it was a lot of fun.

How cool is that? We do not have anything in our town like that as far as I know anyway. Thanks for sharing the picture with us. I love the idea of this.

there are some really pretty Christmas trees and others were sort of plain but all were nice. It was a lot of fun and will be fun again this year. I will try to take a better picture this year, thanks for saying so.

That sounds like something fun to do. but I would be to cheap to vote if I had to pay a quarter.

You can put more quarters in or put a quarter in 3 or 4 different boxes if you wish.

Our malls do that--one near me has 3 floors of trees decorated by residents in the area and I love seeing them.

That sounds like lots of fun to go on all 3 floors and see the trees, do they have a sign saying who the tree was decorated by?

In Chicago, they used to have trees from all around the world at the Museum of Science and Industry on the South Side. I hope they still do it.
