Falling, Falling, Falling

It seems recently that every day the price of gasoline is dropping and where I live it is now down to under $2.00 a gallon.
I think it is about time we see prices like this again instead of having the price go up and up like it has in the past.
Do you see this as a good thing in the future or do you think the prices will skyrocket again.

It's actually the USA's increased domestic oil production that is partly responsible for the fall in oil prices globally. With the USA not needing to import so much oil there is a glut available on the world markets. And for some reason the OPEC countries don't seem to want to turn off the taps to try to increase the price!!!
If you thought $2 a gallon was expensive then try living in the UK. It's almost £5 (approx $7) a gallon. And this is very cheap!! 18 months ago it was approx $10 a gallon.

@Marcyaz Here in the UK we have this thing called Fuel Duty which is basically a tax on every litre of fuel purchased. This currently accounts for £0.58 per litre. We also have VAT (20%) to pay on every litre. Let's not get into the argument that it is illegal to pay tax on a tax yet VAT is charged on the price AFTER the fuel duty is added.
So at the current average price of £1.05p per litre, 58p of that is fuel duty and a further 17.5p is VAT. So the petrol actually costs 30p per litre. The rest is tax!!
The government should be wearing masks!!!

I am loving it. Though I drive a small car, I drive it 4 times a week for about 40 miles one-way, that can add up. That cheapest we have had it is 1.69, but when use our Kroger points, we could get it even cheaper than that.

@Marcyaz Is it limited, the amount of fuel you can buy? I heard someone say they can only get a certain amount, but we fill up not only our cars, but the extra gas cans we have.

It is not such good thing in my opinion because it encourages people to buy large engine vehicles and drive everywhere. Everyone talks about the damage to the environment from pollution, yet have no qualms about generating excessive engine exhaust.

You are so lucky here we pay a good 3,5 times more on gas than you are, we pay 1.03/0.26 gal. that mean when you pay $ 2.00 per gallons, converting what we pay makes it $4.00/Gallon. right now, and it is not easy let me tell you. It make me wish to convert to a horse and buggy.

This is a false security--all the people running out to buy BIG cars again will regret it--prices will skyrocket again!!
