My dream of working in Hollywood has finally come true! Well, sort of. Okay, not even close, but my son did ask me to do some voice overs on a new Lego stop-motion movie he is working on. For a twelve year old, he has gotten really good at making short Lego clips. He has an Instagram account and a YouTube channel where he posts his work. For those that don't know what stop-motion animation is, think back to the old Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer classic that comes on tv every year. Or, Frosty the Snow Man and a few other Chritmas classics. They were all made with stop-motion photography. My son does it with Lego characters and scenes. He has come up with some pretty funny episodes! Anyway, so the closest I'll ever come to being famous is being able to say I did voice-overs on his Lego stop-motion videos. Who knows, maybe one day my son will be a famous Hollywood producer or director!

What a fabulous hobby for him. If he has a following, monetize his site and bank some money for college.

His YouTube site is pretty new, so he hasn't built up a following just yet, but I'm sure he'll gain followers soon. He puts a lot of animation "shorts" on his Instagram account, and he has over 800 followers right now.

@ElizabethWallace I am very lucky that he is a well-balanced child! He likes to do so many things, such as sports, the outdoors, read, etc.

@moffittjc This is great. Don't let it take over his life, but encourage his efforts. They sound great to me.

He hasn't done one in a while, since he's been so busy with school. He worked really hard to produce a Christmas video, but when he went to finish the final editing, the file somehow got corrupted and he lost the entire thing. He was so upset because he worked so long and hard on that project!

When his early work becomes sought after you will become legendary as the magical voice used during his early work. Can I have your autograph now before it becomes difficult to acquire one?

If there is demand for a sonorous voice with an accent you do not have to go far just say the word

I think he does it more for fun than anything, so I don't know if he'll ever become famous! But it is a passion of his, so who knows! The kid is only 12, so if he wanted to continue pursuing it, he will only get better and better!

That is exactly how people make it to Hollywood, they love what they do and have since childhood.

My brother does computer graphics and imaging, of the quality that is equal to, or better, than that of Pixar studious. Some of his work he was producing BEFORE Pixar released all their hit movies (Toy Story, Monsters, Inc, etc) was light-years ahead of what the studio was producing. He could have written his ticket to stardom at Pixar or Dreamworks Studious, had he had any interest in it. He once told me, "I'm good at what I do because I love what I do. If I had to work at a studio animation job, I would probably no longer love what I do, and therefore would stop producing quality work."

As far as your Hollywood ambition is concern, I think you should make full use of this opportunity and see where this small stint will lead you to. Since we can never tell what tomorrow will be like, all the more you should do your best with the chance in the hope something positive will happen favorably for you. It is really a thrill to read your share here and hopefully it will help land you something significant and launch your journey to Hollywood. All the best.

I don't think he has any ambitions to make it to Hollywood. He does it just for fun! He actually wants to be an environmental engineer when he grows up!

He actually wants to be an environmental engineer, something he has been interested in for about the past three years. That's pretty good that at 12 years old he already knows what he wants to go to college for! I told him his stop-motion animation hobby could be a good back-up plan for him!
