Underneath the aging brain cells there's a Cat Person. Mom may be 94 but that does not mean that she doesn't know Kitty Speak.
Saia brat cat spent a soggy night outside. She zipped in for a meal this morning. She also washed her soggy fur dry.
Since then Saia has been dozing on a cushioned dining room chair. Mom reached out and gently rubbed the silly feline's striped head. Saia didn't move. Mom touched for another minute or so before the tail wag began. (Tail wag in Cat Dialect does NOT mean the same thing as it does in Dog Dialect.)
( Mom moved away. It was good to see her interacting with another. The clear moments are priceless. Go, Saia!

@TheHorse This particular cat is the nastiest so called house cat that I've yet to encounter. When she needed antibiotics the Vet gave her a shot that lasted two weeks. Usually he'd hand me a bottle of pills to administer. Even he had his notions about her capabilities.

Pets are often used in therapy as people who have lost some of their mental faculties will respond to animals. I am not keen on the idea of ever being in a nursing home but if I am I hope it is one that alllows pets.

@snowy22315 You will need a nursing home that follows the Eden Alternative ideas: gardens and animals and trips around your part of the world. Vibrant, not just stuck in a cranny kind of idea.
