Are eggs getting expensive?

I'm a guy who likes his eggs. Whether they're sunny side up, scrambled, or hard boiled, I love me some egg. I was really gratified to read a little while ago that the nutritionists are now saying eggs are a healthier food that we had previously been told. It's ok to eat several eggs a week.
But I've been reading something else that has me a bit concerned. Chicken flocks in the US are being hit by bird flu. Entire flocks have had to be destroyed to stop the spread of the disease. The result is a rise in egg prices.
I'm not the grocery shopper in our family - my wife does that. She hasn't yet been complaining about egg prices going up, and the supply of eggs in our refrigerator hasn't diminished. So, it looks like the price rise has been tolerable so far.
I hope it stays that way. I love me some egg.

I love my eggs too! Well, I will say it has gone up little by little - but not enough that I wouldn't buy them anymore. I know our fast food Panda Express has stopped using eggs in their fried rice recipe - there was a sign that said because of the shortage and cost of eggs, they have decided not to put egg in it anymore (now they use yellow corn).

@RonElFran Oh yes, we can tell! My kids liked to pick out the eggs - so they definitely can tell. I can "see" why they used corn - for the color replacement so it doesn't look too different - but to me it tastes sweeter now. Corn isn't particularly nutritious - eggs at least have protein. I'd rather have the egg in it!

I wonder if fried rice customers can tell the difference without eggs. I suppose Panda Express redid their recipe with some substitute for eggs to maintain the taste.

I wonder if chickens get bird flu from flying birds. If so, it may be your oceans rather than customs regs that are your biggest protection.

@RonElFran That's true too. We get many birds that migrate from Siberia but maybe the sick ones don't make it - unless they're 'carriers'. :)

Here everything's price is increasing, of course it is including the eggs. Compare to other food, eggs don't increase a lot of price. Whereas the beef is quite expensive today. Besides, vegetables are much more expensive than usual. Perhaps it is winter and therefore the price is higher.

I hope your eggs stay cheap. IMO they are a good source of nutrition when other foods get expensive.

Here everything is getting expensive-I had to go shopping the other day and I was kinda shocked about the price jumps. What is kinda odd is that we're not talking about imported goods even, but things from here...although oddly enough the price of gas keeps dropping here.

Then we need to move to your neck of the woods. Here lately I've been calling eggs liquid gold.
