As an English learner,it's suggested that i post and comment at myLot. I don't get the point. How could this boost my english abilities other than reading english novals or watching english movies(well, i don't get the chance to talk to any native speakers)? Any advice?

Being on Mylot can help you to understand the meaning of words you are unsure of, or perhaps never heard before. And writing it will help you to express yourself. Welcome to the site, I hope that you enjoy it.

Nice to see you here! Welcome to Mylot. I think here you can at least practise more of your reading and written English. If you really want to practise your spoken English, a live chatting room is much more suitable for you.

A lot of people have used Mylot to improve their English skills in some way. The ones who get good results are the ones who ask questions. This post might give you some answers

Your tutors will expect you to write in English as well as read it so interacting on sites like this is a great way to learn, and get some money for it too - you seem to be writing well here

Welcome to mylot. English is not my native language as well. Though it's always recommended to read English books or watch English movies, I found my English got improved when I started to chat with others online using English. Ever since I joined those writing sites, I always think of the posts I am going to write in English, but not Chinese (my first language). I think this helps as English comes more naturally to me now, not just a translated language from Chinese. I agree that here, we might only practice our reading and writing skill, for spoken and listening, you still need to look for other opportunities. Besides learning English, I have learned a lot from other mylotters. Hope you'll enjoy your stay here.

@syllogism Most of the writers here are well-versed in the English Language. So, reading their posts and understanding these, can enhance your English learning skills. myLot can even help you write better once you begin to understand the usage of particular words you have read.So all in all, it can be a win-win situation for you without you having to spend money on tutoring.
