Wikinut contrasted with Bubblews

I never wrote for Wikinut, but I saw the news of its inability to continue paying writers and decided to take a look at their announcement. It seemed very honest, and very sad. Two things struck me in particular. The first is that the site never made money; in fact, they never even broke even. But the owners hung in there trying to make it work for as long as they could. The second thing is that they have committed themselves to paying current writers everything they are owed. They are even cutting their payout level in half so that more of their writers can be paid money they've accumulated. What a contrast with Bubblews! That site shut down totally and without warning. Writers who were owed hundreds of dollars have absolutely no hope of ever seeing a penny of it. Unlike Bubblews, Wikinut is showing real, genuine concern for those who wrote for them. To my mind, that's the kind of integrity Bubblews never showed. I salute Wikinut for their commitment to integrity. Wikinut is attempting to continue as a non-paying writers' community. I wish them well.

I knew Wikinut but never joined it. I was in the B for two years, but get out of that ship when they did not pay many of my redemptions. Their management style was so hard to decipher!

I republished about 10 articles on the website. Didn't earn anything perhaps because I wasn't active on the website. The earnings was very very slow. It's a good thing that the owners had decided to pay whatever that their writers had earned. That shows integrity.

Wikinut shows a lot more respect for its writers than Bubblews.

I wrote for both site, the difference in the site is the character of the owner of the sites.

@RonElFran yes, Wikinut is closing out their revenue sharing program in a more dignified way than Bubblews. However, the owner/admin have had been running this site on auto-pilot for quite some time. They generally have not been responsive to inquiry from their users and more than one user in the past has complained about not having the ability to delete their posts or accounts there.

That is how websites that have to close down should behave! That is very refreshing. I can't stand when a website just closes without warning and it's just basically "forget you" when it comes to what they owe you.

I have some posts on Wikinut-sorry they won't be paying their writers. It would have been nice if Bubblews had given such info and let the writers decide what to do.

That certainly sounds a different approach from Bubblews.
