How can a city be attractive to the tourists?

There are many factors that will draw tourists to visit a city. I would like to share some of these factors in this discussion. Perhaps you can add a few more when you want to. Comment on this issue.
1. Safety will always be the number one concern for all the tourists especially in today's world. Many people will not visit a place that safety has a terrible reputation or horrible record such as stealing, terrorist attacks ,crime and etc.
2. Price will be another issue that everyone will pay attention at. Lower price and bette rate in foreign currency exchange will always be a major concern for any tourist. For everybody wants to make use of their money to get the best value in their trip.
3. Food and places to live will also be a great concern for the tourists since these are the two important factors of a happy trip.
4. Attractive sightseeing location where the tourists can have a good time and beautiful memory for their trip are essential as well.
5. Easy transportation is another factor that tourist will love to know before they wil consider a place for travel. I can still remember getting stuck in the traffic in a trip for over two to three hours before the tour bus can enter into the city and it was no fun at all.

i think tourists like a city with many lively people too.
Many tourists get around in a city with great public transportation, and they tend to follow the crowd when they get on or get off a bus, taxi or train.
I like cities where people are moving around all the time, so that I feel safe, and I can ask for direction.

Thank you for your response. You are right because who would go to a city where there is no people. However, I am afraid there are some places are just overcrowded such as the city I am living at. A small island plus some more territories but consists of over 7.8 million people and 35 - 40 million tourists per year in this small city. They made me afraid of seeing people on the street, public transits, shopping mall and restaurants. That's why many Hong Kong people love to travel overseas when they have vacation. I always enjoy the fresh air in the other countries where not many people will live in there. Well, I think I am a quiet tourist then .

I agree with you that the security is the first importance factor to attract tourists. Of course other factors are also important as you listed. I would like to add one more reason, that is the local people. If they are nice, it will give the tourists a good impression and they would like to visit there again.
