Hard to wake up

I hate having to get my son up in the morning. He is one of those people, that a bomb going off wouldn't wake him up. I went in and shook him. He said, he was up. I went back five minutes later and he was laying down. My son is not a morning person. I will have to go back a couple of more time to make sure he is up. I like to make him sit up so, I know, he is awake and when he starts moving that is usually when I let it go. Do you have a hard time getting up in the morning?

When my son was little he would do that. His grandmother loved it. she could believe he could sleep through getting a bath. She is a light sleeper. My son gets this from my side of the family. My father was the same way.

I am not an early bird but I seem to be able to get up at the same or about the same time as long as I am feeling alright.

I used to have hard time getting up especially when I slept late the night before. But now that I get older, it's easier for me to get up in the morning. What time does your son usually sleep at night? Would it be easier for him to get up in the morning if he sleeps earlier?

He goes to bed at 10 pm. He just isn't a morning person. He likes to lay in bed for awhile before he gets up. That is alright if I wake him early.

@whiteream I read that it's good for health to stay in bed for awhile then only get up, so probably your son is doing the right thing. My husband still does that, so I always have to wake him up (if needed) at least 30 minutes before, so he can enjoy his own sweet time with the bed or his dream.

How old is your son? I'm retired now, but though I didn't like getting up early for work I had no problem doing it.

My son was like that and I would get so frustrated trying to make sure he was ready for school.

@whiteream I know, right? My son did too. Of course, he had to hurry once he woke up but he never was late.

I am like your son. I am not a morning person at all. It's so hard to manage to get up early that I prefer to stay up through the night and go to bed in the morning. I attended High School in the morning and I never got used to it. What I do right now is to set 2 of the cell phone alarms to wake me up 30 minutes before time and then at the desired time. This way you lay that yearned warm time under your blankets, feel happy and don`t get any later.

I have never had a hard time getting up in the morning. My sister hits her snooze button a bunch of times before she actually gets up. My mother used to tell me I was a joy to wake up in the morning. She would touch my toe and I was out of the bed. My other two sisters not so much. I'm still that way.

As I got older I have found that it is easier to get up in the morning. I was hard to wake up when I was younger. I do understand. But, sometimes it takes him over an hour to get ready.
