What's your favorite holiday memory?

I'm interested in hearing from anybody who has a holiday memory. I don't mind the holiday, be it Pagan, Jewish, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Shinto, or any of the other traditions adorning this blue marble of hours. I'll start:
I have a lot of favorite memories but an especially fun one was when my partner and I decided to cut a Solstice Tree. We went to the neighbor's yard and she had a bunch of four or five year old firs that needed to be moved out. So we cut one, brought it home, and then I folded a whole bunch of paper cranes to decorate it with, and strung lights. The cranes were all different colors, even silver and gold. It looked really, really cool.
Your turn!

I really loved Thanksgiving at my Grandma's house. Her homemade cooking was so delicious! I always ate way too much!

I can't think of one specific one. I loved Christmas as a child. Just the whole thing. Anticipation, getting the feast ready and the table set, helping my mom decorate gifts in silly ways, the baking, the traveling some years, the out of town guests at our place some years, the noisy get togethers and then the day of peace after it all ends. Heading out with the family to go sledding, skating, or skiing. I tried to recreate as much as I could for my girls. I enjoyed the Christmases when they were young too.

We had to wait for everyone. you get up whenever you wanted, eat, shower, get dressed, peek into the room with the tree, but not a single present could be opened until everyone was up. Mom almost always had to get me up because sister couldnt stand waiting any longer, lol
