Poison Oak? Really?

I am whining tonight because I have encountered poison oak/ivy somewhere and my arms are now covered and itching like crazy. I think I may have got it at the Chiropractor office. Or maybe it was Tony`s hunting clothes. Then I think, well, I was hugging my dog Rosco and he is in and out of the woods.
It is Winter and this stuff is awful with or without long sleeves. Seems I cannot escape this mess no matter what it gets me.

Apply a cortisone cream, it should be available over the counter , I remember I bought one when I traveled to Los Angeles. For the blisters, mix a vinegar solution - one tablespoon white vinegar and one pint cool water. Wet a cloth, and apply to the blisters several four times a day.

@andriaperry The vinegar should work to calm the itching and to heal the blisters.

I do use the cortisone but I never knew to use vinegar. Thanks.

Jewelweed is great on those. The leaves are great for skin irritations (and the seeds taste like walnuts). I have a bar of soap with it in it to prevent the effects of poison ivy/oak. I walked through a patch of poison oak this summer, but fortunately it still doesn't get to me.

I will write that down since I prefer natural over store bought.

@andriaperry What you can do is boil the jewelweed (it is a very watery plant) in some water and reduce it down into a green liquid. Then let it cool and pour it into an ice tray and freeze it. When you have a rash or skin blemish, pull out one of the cubes and rub it against it. It will soothe it and start to treat it. That's what I read about what someone else does. It makes sense.
