Bracing ourselves for a weekend of singing

I am not a good singer. My husband is even worse. I also have a really low boredom threshold so this weekend could be quite a challenge. The friends we are visiting are keen singers and we have not one, not two, but three choir events to attend this weekend. It could have been four but we wimped out this evening and elected to plead exhaustion and stay at their house in front of the telly and skip the first of the choral events. Apparently we have a 'tight schedule' this weekend skipping around between the two different choirs they sing with and all their appointments. I'm practicing the serene "My eyes are closed because I'm concentrating on the music" face. I had opportunity to use that one a lot last year at a very long and very cold performance in a Dutch church.

Last year we only went to one concert because they were both in the same choir. This year it got a bit more complicated when one of them quite the choir and joined another.

Perhaps it might have been more enjoyable to visit at a time when their choir schedule wasn't quite so busy. I hope you can sustain that look through three events!! lol

OH blimey why put yourself through it. A friend of ours told us that she was booking up to see the Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall a couple of years ago. We told her that because of work commitments we could not go and besides how many times do you want to see the Messiah. She rang to tell us she had booked a box and we should arrive at 6pm. I flipped and said Look I told you we could not make it and I am not going anywhere near your box!

@boiboing That sounds rough. I do hope they aren't murdering Silent Night at all three events.
