You are my sunshine, is a song that bring back very happy memories for me. My grandfather called me his sunshine. This song keeps popping into my head. The last few days, I have been walking around singing it without even realizing I was doing so.
My grandfather died over twenty years ago. I still think of him every time I think of "you are my sunshine".
It's funny after 20 years I still miss my grandfather very much. His birthday was December 30. Maybe, that is why I keep thinking about him.

My father used to sing that song to my sister when she was a baby.

@whiteream I didn't think so, I was an only child for 9 years..so I wasn't a happy camper when she showed up.

@AbbyGreenhill You sound like my sister. she was not happy when I was born. You took all the attention away from here. Or so she says.

There are some people who are so important to our lives that they will always stay in our memory and I think your grandfather is one of those and the song trigger the memories.

@whiteream I know what you mean. I feel that way with my mother. It's been around 20 years now and there are times it feels like yesterday.

I am sure it does. Funny that he has been gone for so long but in some ways it feels like it was just yesterday.
