Dairy Free Strawberry Cream Cone

Just finished testing one of these Dairy Free, Strawberry Ice Cream cones from Tesco... I must say compared to many DF products, these are surprisingly good,... good flavour and ,a problem with many Dairy free foods , not tasting of Coconut or anything much different to a regular, ice cream cone. The biscuit cone could have been a little lighter but for those with Gluten problems , they are made from Maize, so a little heavier and harder, but the choc lining is acceptable too. So now I've done the work for you, it's time for coffee

@sgbrown Oh you lucky thing, must be great to get up in the morning, not wondering what you can eat today, not for weight problems, or the latest 'Hollywood Fad diet' but for health

I a fortunate that I don't have any problems with food allergies or interactions. I can pretty much eat whatever I want, but this will be a good recommendation for those who have problems.

Now that sounds like a good job - testing goodies.

@bookbar So you've become intolerant to certain things as you've got older? I'm lucky in that I can eat what I like with no ill effects - apart from gaining weight!

@jaboUK Yep, all came on with 'the Change', now it won't go away... weight has never been a problem (other than easily losing it) I seem to have an allergy to weight gain too hehe!

@jaboUK Testing REAL goodies might be.... those were the days, when a yard of chocolate could slip away unnoticed into and through my digestive system.... now I guess 'payback time'...

I stopped buying much ice cream some time ago because of all the fat, so I am genuinely interested in trying these.

@Asylum As well as being intolerant to certain foods I am pretty fussy on flavours, so I assure you , they are a good sub. being plant based and not Soya, I found them pleasantly 'eatable'... the hubby also, who is the Ice Cream king, didn't mind them either, and not too sweet and sickly...

Sounds yummy. Do they make chocolate ones? I'm allergic to dairy too.

If it is dairy free, what is replacing the milk or cream?

@marlina Can't tell you exactly, as I threw the box, but it's plant based and NOT Soya as I am sensitive to that too, and many DF products tend to resort to that

My theory is either eat the real thing or don't bother. All the 'fake' stuff doesn't cut it for me.

That's just fine if you have an accommodating digestive system, that doesn't put you through hell if you eat the wrong thing.... so this post is not about 'fake' but substitutes for those not so lucky

Lovely! I miss Tescos so much and all their delicious deserts.
