My husband loves strawberries and I saw a commercial for Shari's Berries where if you entered the code you got a discount on their current price for 1/2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries.
So, I ran (or walked quickly since i don't actually run anyplace) to the computer to the Shari's Berries site. The first thing I did was to read the reviews. I guess you can figure out that I didn't buy any berries from that place. The reviews were not favorable. Too many described the strawberries as 'mushy' when they bit into them.
When the bad reviews out number the good ones it's time to move on Just don't tell my husband that he missed out on chocolate covered strawberries, he can live without knowing that!
Have you ever tried Sharie's Berries and what was your experience?

Maybe but the berries in the store didn't look so great.

Logic decrees that a chocolate covered strawberry will not be in a firm fresh condition. The addition of the chocolate coating would require the chocolate to be at least warm, which in itself will not do the strawberries much good. There is also the time factor to consider because they will have to be covered, dried and then packed and shipped, thus giving more than adequate time for them to age a little.

@AbbyGreenhill This would depend on how busy the company is. If they get very orders they can dip them and ship them fresh, but if they begin to get busy it may require carrying stock so some will be fresh and others not.

@Asylum If I was going to eat them all myself it would be no problem, but I don't want to risk it since I love my huband!

Well, there are people I know who ordered the and they were fresh and people I know who ordered them and they weren't so good. I've dipped fruit in chocolate and the fruit wasn't mush. But I'm not taking chances, there are other things to buy him.

I send chocolate covered berries from Harry and David and they are always perfect. I just sent them recently to friends in Va.

@AbbyGreenhill Yes they are but they have never dsappointed me with anything I sent.
My daughter tells me that Shari's was bought out and the quality had slipped she said they aren't good anymore.

@BelleStarr Thanks for that info. I didn't know that about Shari's. Next time we go to Pigeon Forge I'll stop in the H&D store and get some and save shipping costs.

Evidentally everyone who buys them, except for the reviews I read, loves them.

I have a huge strawberry patch in my back yard. So we can do our own. I bet they were expensive as well. I'm sure you can find a company that sells them where they do a good job of it and have great reviews.
