2012 – Mammoth Press A young Chinese man with engineering skills is taught to hunt and fear a demonic shape shifting creature that often poses as a fox. He captures her as her mother is killed, but he sees her only as a frightened girl and lets her go. Their paths cross again years later when the age of steam has reached China from Britain, and trains are everywhere.. The shape-shifters are driven to near extinction by the new mechanical age, where some men even create clockwork androids leading the hero to ideas on how to save the girl with a whole new kind of magic. A wondrous mix of fantasy, science fiction, oriental mythology and Steampunk. Arthur Chappell
