A preparation day dominated by a visit to the barbers. I got things ready for Wednesday’s last welfare inspection meeting of the year, and did a little local shopping.
The barbers trip was for a beard shave, as I have no hair left on my head. I often let my beard grow wild for a few months and then get the barber to remove it – getting it trimmed just before Christmas seemed timely.
As the very nice senior partner of the barbershop died a few months back, (suicide after a prolonged battle with bone marrow cancer), the lady running the shop had lots of customers to see so I knew it would be a long wait. I had a book with me to pass the time, but I wasn’t expecting her to invite me and other customers to eat sweets and drink beer while we waited too, which was delightful.

I can still ride the sleigh and taking all the presents for myself this year - checked my list twice and it says I've been good so everything is for me this year

that's certainly a way for those waiting to remember the kindness over the wait

What a very nice surprise. enjoy your christmas day. Have a Merry Christmas.

. Isn't it odd how men's hair disappears from the head, but the beard keeps growing?
