Christmas is over, for this year it seems and the tinsels lays tattered with shattered dreams. Merry is wished and Happy is sung, Angels are gleaming while the mistletoe is hung. Children lie in wait for the shiniest of gifts brought by a Santa their hearts to uplift. But seldom is told why we gala this part, the birth of the Christ Child to cradle our heart. by Lany S O

Christmas comes and all rejoice With family and friends But the season is so fleeting And all too soon it ends Once we come to Boxing Day It fades into the haze But never mind, it will return In just 365 days

I think we all learn the reason for the season and we learn about Santa. Two different things, one holiday. We will take down our decorations after Orthodox Christmas January 7th. We keep our decorations up for our friends who celebrate that day.

well that is understandable - if you have family and friends still visiting for a while yet then all is good - I think everyone has their own feelings about taking them down, Many years ago I had a wonderful Christmas and didnt want to take them down at all.

Congratulations Lany, those words are beautiful and so true. We put all the excitement in the gifts, decorations and food and we forget the real meaning of this celebration.
