Meadowlark Lemon has passed. He was a athlete, actor and minister. He played with the Harlem Globetrotters for 24 seasons starting with them in 1954. Meadowlark was famous for his no-look behind-the-back passes, no-look behind-the-back passes and clowning around on the court. He was known as Clown Prince of basketball and in 2003 he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He died Sunday in his Arizona home at the age of 83.
Did you know of him? I saw him on TV and they performed here once and I was able to see him. I thought they were great.

I used to love watching footage of the Globetrotters and I remember the cartoon version of them too - probably the only basketball team most of us could name in the UK

I never saw him miss either. He started doing hoops real young at home with home made hoop and ball.

He was part of the team that, to me, was the "golden age" of the Harlem Globetrotters. I got to see him a number of times when I was a kid. All of those show-off players today are still amateurs compared to the things that Meadowlark did on the basketball court.

Yes, I agree. I didn't watch it much when he wasn't a part of it.
