Picked up picture discs

My kids were able to be in family photos with me before Christmas. I had a young woman come do the pictures who works independently from her home.
She took the pictures, edited them and then made discs of the photos for us.
We were able to go to the fifth floor of a historic building here in town, our Opera House. In our part of the country they called the community auditorium the Opera House. Traveling performers took to the stage here and then later it was home to one of our first movie theaters.
This building was in such disrepair when my kids were little that the city was going to tear it down. The winter of 78-79 they put up a metal wall to keep the bricks from falling from the facade and killing pedestrians. The community has rallied behind it, though and manufacturing companies donated windows and insulation, etc. We now have a historic building with one or two stages and conference rooms and offices. Our community is very fortunate.
I am very fortunate to have lovely kids and kids in law. I will share a few more pictures with comments.

13,000 to 15,000. I no longer live there but this is where my kids grew up. When my son was less than two they had an ice cream parlor in the back downstairs and we would walk there on summer nights.

@GardenGerty I've lived in a couple of small towns (in Iowa and Montana). A very different mentality. Great picture, by the way.

This is everyone. The little boys were feeling a little strange. My grand daughters that are young are at that forced smile stage. My tween age girls did not want to be there at all. They have only been ours for a couple of years and sometimes are not sure how to relate although they love having lots of family.

She does not print them out for us and that is why she can go so inexpensively. She actually made three sets, with written releases for our own use.

@GardenGerty This makes sense because disks are far cheaper than photographic paper.

That is much like my son's step daughters, at least that night.

That's always the hardest thing is to do group shots and get everyone to cooperate :0) Even if they aren't all looking they are still nice pictures to have taken.

We only see the one family about twice a year. The boys had not really warmed up to us all. I wish I had had it done at the end of the week.

A lovely family photo! I am glad your town decided to keep the historical building. We need to retain our history as much as we can.

When my younger ones come to town again I may have to find something historic here in my new town. I love old stone and brick buildings.

What a great location for a family photo shoot. Our son and his girlfriend found an old train station where there was a photographer taking photo shoots one year for valentines. There is something so special about these old buildings.
You've got a good looking family.

I really love old buildings and I like the way they have redone this one. In the town where I am now living the Opera House downstairs area has been renovated into a bakery and market. It is great as well.

It makes a big difference when major national companies support the locations they are in. I am sure the local plants and managers are the ones that worked on the grant paperwork.
