Old Years can be a lonely affair

With one more sleep to go we will all be on the edge of the dawning of a New Year - New Years eve will be here, and for some it will be a lonely affair.
My grandmother always said - the way you enter your New Year is the pattern it will follow throughout the year. With that thought in mind, I dont want to have any heartache, pain, sadness, unhappiness, worry and stress on my old year . . . new years eve . . . I just want peace, tranquility and a sense of BEING.
Love to all my family and friends and to those that share their Love and kindness with us every day of the year and not just on special days . . .
what are your thoughts as you move into the Anticipated 2016:
Top 10 Nostradamus Predictions for 2016: I shall go for the most obious ones . .

Those are interesting predictions I will look into the site later. New Years Eve was a party night when we were younger, the smarter (older) we got we celebrated with friends and family at home or their homes. Now we are in our 70's and even before that we stayed home, went to bed early and enjoyed the new year quietly with coffee on the first day of the rest of our life. We understand we are just travelers in this lifetime. We only hope to make every year the best yet, but if that isn't possible we want to enjoy the ride, no matter where it leads.

you say it so clearly - I remember a time when I was young and danced into the new year, then i got married, so we had home parties with friends and kids, now I am older, we get together for a dinner with selected friend or just watch tv - I so wish I was young again.!!

I see nothing really significant about the change of date since it is just a man made concept to mark our events by. Naturally the world in general and the individual person will experience some changes during the year, which happens constantly anyway.
The moment of the year itself changing will have no affect on anything whatsoever, expect in the minds of many people.

@Asylum Timing, like Nostradamus prophecies, can be as unreliable as those with ulterior motives, who make the connection fit the circumstance... so if you want an almighty binge night, what better time to indulge such human nonsenses, but if it makes you feel good,no harm done!

I agree with what your mom used to tell you. How you go into the year is how it will manifest itself. I just watched a doc on Nostradamus' predictions for the next years. It is scary and with so many of his predictions coming true it makes me very sad. We are in for a lot. How will we stand under this pressure? It would be nice to say "Oh, I don't believe any of that." But I do. Ikes!

@garymarsh6 we all need a good man out there working for the count-downers - I am sure you will be much appreciated. Rest assured, I will be working as well, in the kitchen. ha ha

I will go to bed, likely before midnight. I will be sleeping when the new year arrives. On January 1st I will awaken early to attend a First Light Geocaching event.

I pretty much try to love every day to the fullest and not carry a lot of baggage around. New Year is a good excuse to slough off all the old and start brand new. Happy New Year!! I am not convinced that Nostradamus was specific to years but I know many try to make it so, lol

Our Complex is holding a New Years Eve "street" party "bring 'n braai". I say "street" because it is in the safety of the complex and not the big bad street :-D. We are 24 townhouses, so it will be quite big. My Mom and Dad will be watching The Royal Variety Show. I just wish everyone, health, happiness, love and prosperity in 2016, have a Very Happy New Year @Inlemay .

I find NYE something of a melancholy time always, as all those early memories seem to flood back with a vengeance on that night and illuminates the thoughts of those no longer here to celebrate.....like Xmas Day, it must be a desperately lonely time for those who are alone and those pseudo jolly programmes they put out on the media, probably make them feel worse.
~Happy New Year~ to you and yours anyway, and wish you all you wish yourselves in 2016
