Do you Colour?

I received an Adult Colouring book for Christmas and so did a lot of my family and friends. They are becoming very popular, but this is my first one. Along with the book I got a package of pencil crayons and one of wax crayons.
I started to colour my first picture last night, and found it rather relaxing. I thought it would be a good thing to do just before going to bed, but would you believe, I had a dream in which I was trying to find my picture to show someone else. I kept flipping the pages from back and front, but could not find that particular picture. Thankfully, it was just a dream, and the picture was still in the book this morning.
Did you get a colouring book? Are you enjoying it?

I also got one of those coloring books for Christmas but haven't started it yet. I'm hoping it will relax me

I did not get a colouring book but I know that colouring is growing in popularity. We were at someone's home on Christmas Day and their 8 year old was showing me the box of crayons that Santa left for her and her 3 little sisters. They are large and shaped like a diamond. She explained to me that the flat surface on the top is used for colouring in big spaces but the tip is for the outlining. The 2 of us sat at the table and spent some time drawing and colouring, I traced her hand and she then traced mine, she stood beside me and told me that she is almost as tall as me but her hands are so much smaller. I told her to hold on to that picture because one day her hands will be as big as mine are.

I remember colouring as a child and crayons were always a welcome gift. The ones I got for Christmas are Twist-Up ones from Staples. When the point wears down, you just twist the bottom of the tube and roll some more up (like a mechanical pencil). I had never seen them before.

No, I did not, but, I would have liked to, I love painting when I have time, so I think colouring could be just as enjoyable, just strange about the dream, though they do say dreams can be a stress release too. Enjoy colouring @AnneEJ . :-)

I was hoping I would not get one and luckily I didn't. I know it could be relaxing, but I have my knitting for that. I didn't mind colouring things for displays in the classroom; it was a way of putting off the more difficult tasks.
But I don't want to do it now.

One of my friends said she was signing and dating each picture as she finished, so it would be something to look back on

Funny you should ask that. I got a coloring book for Christmas from an aunt. I have since bought myself several more of various themes. It is quite relaxing, and I really enjoy it.

Some of the books are expensive, so that is nice to know that you can print pages from the computer

Yes, they are supposed to reduce stress. I guess our dreams usually revolve around what we did in the evenings.

I see them in a lot of stores now, and almost everyone I talk to received one as a gift.
