Adding your parents on Facebook. Is it a good idea?

I think this is something great to discuss as a whole lot of people will have completely different views and thoughts. Adding your parents on Facebook is disadvantageous as well as advantageous. Disadvantages - Getting to know everything you're upto. - Reading all your comments etc - Checking your tagged pictures that you were trying to hide Overall just getting to know the truth! haha Advantages - Sharing family stuff What more can I think of? Nothing really. You tell me? What do you think?

I think it is only a problem if the child is hiding something from parents but my only son is my friend at FB and so far no problem of that sort at all.

So do I.. Im just targeting the new generation and the children who do hide.. cause I do know many who dont add their parents due to all the above reasons! hehe

This is why i do not allow my parents to have Facebook even though they have asked me several times. Lol but then again, I don't have anything to hide but it's just awkward.

As I do have family members (aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters) as my Facebook buddies.

@cxndie Like some tagged photos in the past or something. I have a photo of me kissing my boyfriend (though we've been together for almost 9 years next month .. it is just awkward having the photo posted by everyone to view) as I don't show affection in front of family. I am planning to actually take the photo down. It makes me think twice about some photos I post as family members are my friend even though I do not mind them as my friend because I have nothing to hide but yes, the word is a-w-k-w-a-r-d.

HAhahahahah!!! It's funny to think of all the things that you wouldn't want your parents to hear you say, but my mom doesn't even watch any movie made more recently than like 1987 so I doubt she will be using facebook any time soon ;)

If you are a teenager, I don't think it's a cool idea. But if you want your parents to trust you, having them in FB is one way to gain their trust.

I doubt most teenagers would want to add their parents.

I do not see anything wrong with it. It will make your parents happy because you are open or transparent with what you are doing.
