Probably a lot of you learned the little verse to say to babies as you count off their toes, "This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home. This little piggy had roast beef, this little piggy had none. This little piggy said, "We, we, we, all the way home." The second southern part: "This little piggy said, "I want some corn." This little piggy said, "Where you gonna get it from?" This little piggy said, "Marster's barn." This little piggy said, "I'm a' tell!" This little piggy said, "We, we, we, all the way home." Do you have silly nursery rhymes from your part of the world?

I never heard that, but it would have given us Northerners Southern accents!

Yes, you really have to recite it in a southern drawl!

I have never heard the part you mentioned but most of the time we don't learn them in their entirety.

@1creekgirl yes i think its mostly because over time people don't learn all of it and teach what parts they know and before you know it nobody realizes that they aren't singing them all.

I guess it depends on who is teaching us.

I never heard of this before. However, I have written some alternative nursery rhymes in the past. I"ll have to write one some time in the future.

@1creekgirl Not that I'd really know but it sounds 'southern-ish' to me.

Thanks for sharing that, I don't ever remember hearing that second part. But I can remember the first part from the time I was just a little girl.

I never knew there was a second verse and it doesn't make any sense, did you just make it up?

I have not heard this version of the rhyme, its cute. I don't think that I know of any particular changes to any of the traditional nursery rhymes.

I learned the first verse and did it with my kids when they were babies. I never heard the second verse. I don't think I know any regional nursery rhymes.

Isn't it funny how little rhymes and songs are different throughout the country?
