As I have already said I have well over 500 followers. I just had a look at the list. Most of them are old timers but I do not see their activity here. It means that they have not come back. Some of them were great contributors way back then.
There is no way to contact them. They do not know what they are missing.
Wherever you are do come back.

You could send them a message and if they have their email notifications on then they might come back after they hear from you

@allknowing I have mine set to 'on' and they go directly to a seperate folder so as not to clutter up my inbox. Surely it is worth a try if you really want to see them come back.

I was thinking on those lines but others would have tried doing that too and if no response is there would mean that they have disabled email notifications.( Actually I have disabled email notifications).

I have that many followers too, and more are being added everyday. I understand what you mean though, as I haen't seen some of the old ones that used to be here, but then we should take into consideration, that maybt they deleted their old account when they left. 'They probably never planned on coming back, but when they did come back, they had to start over. I am going to take that under consideration before i decide to block them or unfollow them.

@allknowing Yea, that is true. I had forgot about that. I have so many, that it would take me a very long time to get through them all. I might have to check them out to see who is still here and who isn't.

I can't speak for all of them, but it's possible some do know, but life has taken over and they just can't make it back here. I remember someone here said that too about their former mylotting friends as they had sort of kept in touch via Facebook. And I know at least 2 folks who have passed away.

I think that the idea of @mysdianait is great. If they receive notifications they will know that the site is up and running.
