Bougainvillea are the pride of our garden. This year however they arrived pretty late. By September our garden is filled with a riot of colour thanks to this humble cluster. They hardly need any maintenance - just a bit of trimming.
Of the colours my favourite is the royal purple

They make good fences and deterrent, they are like barbed wire, sometimes i think they cross pollinate so other colors appear.

@allknowing Those are beautiful, I would love to have them in my garden, but they die in winter, it's too cold here.

@allknowing Bougainvillea flowers are one of my favorite flowers.I love purple ones best.Of course,I love all colors,including white.Superb photos.

what i don't like about bougainvillea are the thorns, but you're right, they are very low maintenance and can survive in hot places.
