If you had won that $1.6 billion lottery and could give one album to every household in America (or in your country), what album would it be?
I asked this in a music group I belong to on Facebook and got some great answers.
PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE ANSWERING!!!
1. NO greatest hits album or box set.
2. NO million-selling classic albums. We already have those albums. This is more a question of an album that you feel is under appreciated (think things like Randy Newman or a Carole King album other than Tapestry), not a question of "I'd give Thriller to everyone" when everyone already has Thriller (it's the best-selling non-greatest hits album in history).
My choice would be A Tribute to the Delmore Brothers by the Louvin Brothers. It's the perfect blend of two of the greatest brother duets in country music history.
How about you?

It would be a mix of singers like Perry Como and Doris Day. True easy listening. I remember my mom had music like this playing all of the time at her home and it was so relaxing. If this one falls into the 'box set' then the one Natalie Cole did with her dad. That one was smooth listening too. Something to soothe the stress and strain of every day life for people.

That's an interesting selection, but quite a good one. I concur that the younger generation should be introduced to real singers like Doris Day ("Secret Love" is my third all-time favorite pop song, behind "It's All in the Game" and "The Great Pretender") and Perry Como ("Round and Round" is on my 100 favorite songs list), because then the talent mattered, not the video or the "personality."

@FourWalls ...My mom had class. She enjoyed a lot of music like this. I remember she had it on all hours. I was a little surprised you liked my selection but glad you know good music. I am a rock and roll junkie but enjoy all kinds depending on my mood.
