"Trolls" Ruined My Day!

One morning while riding my trike, an adult three-wheeled bike(trike), two women, whom are "outsiders" from our place asked if I ever lost weight using that bike for an exercise. They apparently just wanted to greet me, but it was done in bad taste, because I felt insulted because am personally having problems losing weight. I just replied yes, but not so much, telling them I just wanted to increase my stamina and the other benefits of cycling. It gives me freedom, as well as see the whole village very early in the morning, but those two "trolls" really ruined my day! Next time I will not mind them or avoid them when I see them about to cross my path.

Do you think they were just trying to make conversation without thinking or actually making a smart remark. It is not always easy to tell but I've had both happen to me too. Wouldn't it be nice if we always had a smart answer to say back to the smarties. I have a friend that responds back with an expressionless face and silence.

I answered them with a serious face, so they would know I didn't like their question.

@acelawrites My question to you is are you sure absolutely they were being (w)itches. I have been wrong sometimes. Sometimes people are just stupid but mean well. I have had both types.

@Bluedoll they were so friendly before, and so they thought everything they say is welcome. They could be tactless or really did not mean to hurt me.

maybe these are just one of those uneducated pricks who pick on other people to make their lives a little bit better out of their own miserable LIVES! most of our people don't know the difference of asking it right or insulting. we claim to be always the playing victim but we ourselves can be cruel to our own and makes the most insult to others. Im sorry you had to experience but next time just ignore them completely. i'd probably ask them "why do you care?" question

@acelawrites but if you really wanna lose weight, lessen the consumption of rice. I've been doing it for weeks, though i don't see the progress personally those who were around me noticed the reduce of my tummy. exercise is just useless with diet.

Thanks, @@Letranknight2015, yes, some people blurt out words not thinking it might hurt other people. But I do not care anymore, I don't care whatever they might say, as long as I am not harming other people.

I know there are some people who are merely curious or concern, but some might just want to tease others. Even showing the concern, I think it might hurt others' feeling without they knowing it. There was once a friend asked if I feel shamed for being so short. I just laughed and replied, not at all. I didn't know whether he was insulting me or not, I just assumed he was too innocent to ask that question. Keep enjoying yourself with the good feeling of riding the bike and the fresh air, and ignore those unpleasant scenes or moments.

If they talk to you otherwise, are you sure they were being mean or they are just stupid? I would have had to ask if walking actually helps them lose weight. LOL And tell them there is their answer. LOL Just kidding. I would never be mean. I am sure they are like most nosy neighbors. They just wanted to talk and needed to gossip. LOL

@acelawrites Then chances are good they are just being nosy busy bodies trying to feel like they know what is going on.

Thanks, @mommaj, you are right, they are "intruders" here who walk very early in the morning and talking loudly not thinking that residents here are still asleep! They are just "intruders" here.

I suppose it depends on the way they asked you, but could you be being over-sensitive about this? They perhaps just genuinely wanted to know - they may have been thinking of getting a trike themselves in order to lose weight.

@jaboUK, they said it in a manner that I can sense there's an "insult" in it. They said it laughing and with a not so nice gesture.

@MALUSE thanks for your reply, but I don't really know them, and they said it in a way that I can sense something else. Anyway, I'll just avoid them.

Yes, I think it would be better to ignore them next time or just give them that smile and then leave.

Maybe her feeling got hurt and that is something worth writing about. True might only make it worse by worry or getting too uptight. Is that what you meant? @marlina

That's a shame if they were being unkind but perhaps they weren't sure of what to see if they hadn't met you before.

Yeah the best way is to ignore them. But if ever I encounter people like them I will take a video of them and post in social media. LOL!
