Swimming with Diesel Dog

We have a dog beach about 10 minutes away by car from home and today I decided to go with a friend for an early morning swim and take Diesel Dog. Deez loves to chase the waves and runs for miles along the beach trying to catch them. Today I had a friend with me so I thought that might help and if need be I could say it was her dog if he played up, hehe. Diesel started off very well, he ran a short way then came back to us and walked sedately until the next wave came. There is a groin on the beach and so far he hasn't worked out he could actually get past it, so I know that at least he will be stopped at that groin. After awhile he forgot his instructions and started to run far along the beach, we could see him playing and making new friends until he reached the groin. Today there happened to be a lot Surf Life Savers on the beach and in little dinghies near the shore. I think Diesel liked their bright Red and yellow jackets and he became quite friendly with them. One of them said would he like to be their mascot. I think Deez would have liked nothing more. After three hours of walking and running along the beach we decided it was home time. When we arrived home I gave Diesel dog a shower from the hose outside. That was eight hours ago and I have not seen him since. Generally he comes in about 6pm to remind me it is walk time, not today however. He has built a small bunker in the sand at the side of the house and is still sleeping. This could be a sign that he is very hot, or extremely tired from his exercise at the beach and feeling his age.

What a lovely day out for Diesel, and for you of course. (Groin? - Groyne? )

@glenniah I hoped you would laugh, because you did the same for me with 'groin'

What a wonderful outing you both had! What is a groin on the beach, I've not heard that term before?

Hi Val The groin was meant to be Groyne, does that make more sense. Groynes are structures built from the beach out into the water. A kind of wall I suppose

After all the fun he had today he is probably just very tired and all he wants to do is to sleep.

We've had a few hot days haven't we? I guess poor old Diesel is just plain worn out from his run on the beach.
