Well I ask my both daughters who are are10and6 years of age respectively. My younger who is notorious and innocent too sometimes asks mom why I have not eaten any sweets? Then I always reply do you want to go to dentist as hadiya(her cousin and her age sake too) goes. She has some problems with her teeth so she visits off and on to dentist. My daughter immediately leave for bathroom after my question.

No matter what you eat, it is important to brush your teeth, not only before going to bed, after each meal you have to brush your teeth.

Yeah but you know kids have too busy schedules daily so they can't go after every meal but twice a day.

Unfortunately, sometimes an unpleasant visit to the dentist is the thing most likely to get them brushing.

Kids will normally don't do brushing automatically so we have to push them. So yes, I do always push the little ones at home to brush their teeth not just before going to bed but every after meal.

Yes at an early age we should already let our children know the importance of brushing the teeth 3x a day specially in the evening . And you are correct in telling her that if she won't brush she will go to the dentist which they are scared of .

My kids used to come up with excuses like your daughter when they were younger.

I really pay attention to my child's teeth. Of course I will tell him to brush his teeth well twice a day. Besides, I also tell him to use floss and I hope he will have healthy teeth after grow up.
