Why are Petite Jeans Always to Long for Short People

Petite jeans do not fit short people like you would think they do, I am saying if you are 5 foot or less. Jean shopping for us is a nightmare as they are so long you can't just hem them up they would need to go to a tailor they are so long. I don't think that the brand makers know what short is, it would be nice to walk into a store buy a pair of jeans in a petite 6 and go home and they would fit. I have heard of a store called Anne Taylor Loft and it is one of the only stores that offers an entire section for petite people where the jeans actually fit short people and they have the option of Curvy or Modern. I hope that one day, clothing brands can realize that all women are not made the same, we are all different sizes, shapes, and heights.

I've never been petite, so haven't had that problem - in fact the last time I was a size 6 was probably when I was 6 (yrs old)!

@AbbyGreenhill I'm short also and why the manufactures can't make pants to fit us I have no idea. You would think they would have a clue but no they don't.

@Angelee_27 It is to expensive to have jeans altered, sorry you can't buy a new pair now.

@Marcyaz I would get jeans altered to fit me, but that's too expensive. I can't even afford a new pair of jeans right now.

We used to think the size petite was supposed to be for short thin people (by definition smaller than average. being for tall thin people defies logic.

@pgiblett You would not believe the lengths some of the jeans are I could double them over and over and even a tall person would have to shorten them. It is terrible.

I understand your problem with pants being too long. I have the opposite problem with my sleeves being too long

oh my god! I know what you mean. I am 5'2. Whenever I want jeans, they are so friggen long. It's annoying. Sick of trying on clothes that are made for giraffes.

@VivaLaDani13 Isn't that the truth not everyone is 6 foot tall. I hate trying on clothing anymore.

I know how it is just being about 5 ft.2 and overweight which makes it even harder at times to find pants that fit. And what one company considers a certain size another company the sizing is different

@Elizaby It does seem like different companies size differently.
