Vermont May Become the Next State to Legalize Recreational Marijuana Use

Many states have already legalized medicinal marijuana use. In Vermont you need to get a physician's written prescription for it and then apply for a license. I have seen how this is a useful tool in the well being of many people who suffer from chronic pain or other health issues.
There is a lot of debate regarding the legalization of marijuana. America went through the same thing during prohibition.
If it were legalized it doesn't mean that everyone will race to their local dispensary to purchase it. People who live in the Netherlands can use it at will, but not everyone does. Just as alcohol is legal and not everyone partakes of it.
Comments and thoughts? Keep it nice people.

I have been told that I should take a puff every now and again to ease my joint pain. It hasn't become unbearable for me to do anything more than deal with it using ibuprofen, heat and rest. However, I have seen so many people that is helps.

It appears only the bad news hits the papers and television. There are problems and always will be, but I agree it will end up being like prohibition. . While in college in the 60's I saw more than one friend hit rock bottom because of the weed, I'm assuming after we parted , they probably picked themselves and moved on but it wasn't pleasant to be a part of. I personally don't know anyone who smokes anymore. Good or bad, I tend to cantinue to think bad.

@PainsOnSlate I will have to disagree with you on that point. I know many people who use is for medicinal and for recreational enjoyment. They do not abuse it.

@ElusiveButterfly I do understand that but there will be more abusers because it's legal.

@Jessicalynnt I am not sure about headaches. But I do know that people with chronic pain have been helped by using it.

Legalise it.
Would save money from various law enforcement budgets including police and prisons.

I agree Mike. Our prisons are already overcrowded.
