Food Recalls

I just received an e-mail informing me that one of the stores in my area has recalled one of their brand of cashews. I'm interested in learning if others are changing their eating habits because certain foods are recalled more than others?
I am located in California and no longer buy lettuce in the store to many recalls and every store in this area has recalled at least 1 brand and some have recalled what feels like every other month.
I'm growing more fruit and vegetables, as we grow everything organically. For years have been concerned with pesticides and the future health problems that my family could end up experiencing for years.
Do you buy organic in the store? How many are still buying the same amount of produce in the stores?

I can understand, as my area there is a water shortage, so the prices are higher now. We are able to water only 3 days a week, which means less produce for me to pick. Thanks for posting.

What is the reason for the recall?
if they recall everything, then there is nothing much to eat.
i think they are just taking precaution.
if everyone gets sick after eating the tainted or supposedly tainted products, then the news will hit the headlines everywhere.

I think this recall is precaution and realize companies in the United States are trying to be sure food is safe. Many people sue and can cause a company to go bankrupt. We all have seen certain products have caused the deaths of others and the high amounts the survivors sue and have won. Thanks for posting.
