Snow Day and an Extra Cup of Coffee

Hooray for snow days!
My homeschooling family is involved in a co-op two days per week just a few minutes from my home. We are quite lucky because most families drive anywhere from 20-40 minutes to participate.
So due to the proximity to our building, driving to co-op wouldn't have been a big deal for us today.
Yet, when the committee voted to cancel due to the icy conditions of the roads, I admit that I was happy. Mostly, for me, the appeal is the fact that we could sleep late. I'm not a morning person.
I would have been pretty good if we had just postponed the start time. My kids would love to be there today.
However, another upside is that my fourteen year old son is not feeling well. So he could use another day to stay home and rest.
As for me, I plan to make the kids do their school work (much to their chagrin) soon, though I did allow them a sleep-in. And I think I will celebrate with the unusual second cup of coffee.
Cheers!

Getting a snow day is always fun especially when you don't have to rush around in the morning

What kind of co op is it Jilly? Food or what? It is good you do not have to drive far for sure.

Only one coffee usually? I have six to eight a day. Is there more snow coming there?

I make lattes with 2 shots of espresso each morning. so i have one latte (with 2 shots of espresso) so my one coffee is actually the equivalent of 2. i used to drink more, quite a few years ago, when i made pots of coffee, but i found that i would sometimes feel sick from too much. (i put sugar in it) and so i cut down. we have no more snow predicted this weekend

yes, which is what they did. it is hard sometimes when it's snowy. and i understand that. if the weather had been awesome sledding snow or building a snowman snow, i would have let them go outside and enjoy it. but it wasn't. it was mostly icy. nothing fun

The snow is only fun for me if I do not have to go out in it!

I am not big on the snow myself. I am glad, I don't have to go out in it that much.
