Should USA have the draft again for all people? I say yes here what I Think make The daft for two years .The young people will have 90 days to decide if they want to serve in the Navy ,Air force cost gaurd ,Army or Marines. If they do not
Decide by 90 days then who ever need people the most will get stuck in that branch of service.
I think it could help people out more by being in the military for two years . All so imgrints that come to USA will all so have to serve .

No, it's a bad idea.
maybe some sort of social service but people shouldn't be forced into the military.
Modern armies are professional outfits where people join by choice...forcing people into the military would dilute it with idiots.

it was a common practice for years. Forced, required is a better word.

@Rondout50 it was a common practice for years...same as it was here.
Since then things have moved on.
Forced or required is the same thing...making someone join the military when they may not want to.
If you were forced/required to do a job that involved utter lifestyle changes would you give it your all?
To have an effective military they need to have soldiers who WANT to be soldiers.

This why I said they would have 90 days to decide
Want branch of service they want to be in . Which the former draft did not have.
And it only for two years.

We don't need a draft because there are more than enough volunteers. There isn't enough of a career for people that want to serve, because many are turned away or kicked out after a number of years because there isn't enough for them to do. Now if we were smart and used the army in down times to build projects that would help the nation, then it would be efficient use of human resources. A draft isn't necessary though.

I I disagree to and I was not talking about a career. Only to
Serve two year s in the branch of their choice. I think this can help our young folks make USA strong to.

@Rondout50 My uncle and his friends certainly didn't like the draft and they grew up with it. One of the guys that went over never came back the same. He has a ton of health problems and he never wanted to go. A good soldier isn't forced into serving, it's someone that wants to be there. I had many friends from my graduating class go in, and they had a great time because they wanted to do it.

I disagree, I grew up in the Viet Nam era. I never was for war but knew why we were there. The draft s a great idea and if Trump is voted in I feel it is his next step.

That sounds a lot like Communism. If they do have a draft, I think they should draft old people. We've lost too many good young men and women to war. All the cowards are left behind to run the country.
I'd gladly go in the place of a 18 year old.

I would only do it for the simple reason rich leaders seem to like to start wars while poor to middle class citizens end up fighting in them. This way their children would also have to serve and then maybe they would not think war is always the answer.
