Ear hurts when I swallow. Anyone knows what that could mean?

A couple of days ago, I was eating lunch and I noticed that my right inner ear had an uncomfortable feeling whenever I swallowed. Earlier tonight it was doing it again and about 20 minutes ago my gum was hurting a bit whenever I moved my tongue on it. Like at the lower back on the right where my last tooth is. Whenever my tongue hits it, it hurts a bit as well as my ear hurting. So they both hurt at the same time. Please don't tell me it's a wisdom tooth. Anyone know what this could mean? I hope I explained it well enough for you to understand. Oh and it ONLY hurts when I chew and swallow food or when the back of the gum / tooth is pushed.

Could be your ear or your tooth. I'd see your Doctor first before the dentist...only because I hate dentists

I don't like dentists either. But they have become so much easier to go to. The TV in the ceiling, the headphones to hear the TV. the massaging chair. All those distractions help

i think your case is not the same as mine. But i experience a sudden rush of blood (and its quite painful) in my jawline near the ear whenever I drink cold liquid after a long hours of not drinking water.

@trivia79 Well that is more positive and I hope nothing too serious comes out of it. Like it getting worse or anything.

@VivaLaDani13 nope. not yet. what i'm doing now is to drink slowly at first (one small shot) or drink a lukewarm water. The feeling does not exist anymore if i do that.

My mean little side says don't chew or swallow. It will go away. LOL If it's not an inner ear infection, which I seriously doubt based on hurting when you are touch, it is probably your tooth. If you are lucky maybe it is just an infection and an antibiotic will fix you up.

I sure hope it is something easy like that. I can't afford any kind of tooth pulling or whatever those crazy insane dentists do to put your mouth in agony for a bit.

You might have an abscess, so I would go see a dentist if it persists.

@VivaLaDani13 You're welcome. Hopefully it's just your gum swollen from biting something sharp and it will clear up on its own. Maybe try painkillers to give some relief?

@Orson_Kart I hope so. I can't afford seeing or getting anything done at the dentist....and cause it's a scary place lol I didn't think of that lol I usually leave pain killers / medicine as my last resort. But will have take something now.

sounds like you should check out with a dentist, could be wisdom tooth breaking through, if not careful will get an abscess, which happens when the infection goes from your gum to the cheek. Had it happen to me, not nice. go asap

@VivaLaDani13 no worries, ya the dentist when I did go, told me I could have prevented it by going to him the first sign it appeared and taking some antibiotics. But I had left it too late. GJ the infection didn't travel down to my neck, or its hospital trip

@VivaLaDani13 sinsue are another one. I've had it happen where I had a tooth infection and my ears would hurt when I would chew. It was terriable. If it keeps happening I would see an ENT and a dentist.
