MyLot - Tagging Another Member's Content

We are able to submit tags on other myLot member's discussions, responses, and comments. Do you ever add tags to content that is not your own? Personally, the only time I use tags are when I start a new discussion and enter up to 5 tags. I don't go through adding tags to responses and comments that other people leave on my discussions nor do I tag another member's discussion. I see no reason for it really.

The reason for it is for your own way to keep track of discussions. The tags YOU add to a discussion started by someone else only show up for you, no one else.

Are you telling me that I have tagged several discussions with "stupid spammer" for nothing? Seriously, I have tagged a few ones "guidelines violation" or "reported", and I realize that nobody could see these tags.

I use tags to keep my poems and limericks all in one place, so they are easily accessible to me. If my post is a direct spin-off from someone else's, I may tag that discussion.

I do think tags are important in myLot, because they help keep myLot organized and make everything easier to search.

In the good old days nasty tags used to be placed by nasty people. The OP now has the option to delete them. I do not place any tags on posts written by others.

Actually now, in discussions, if we add tags to discussions we did not start, they only show up to us, not to anyone else, including the person that started it.

@JolietJake That will stop any nasty tags being placed.

I rarely add tags to comments that I make, but I may add a tag to the discussion if it is appropriate to do so (especially if the owner has not done so).

Sometimes I do add tags to other peoples discussions but only if they are relevant to the topic. I never tag responses or comments in my, or anyone elses, dicussions.

I have never used that option. Really couldn't see the reason for it.

The only tag the I use on discussons, responses or comments by others is 'reported' after I report the post concerned.

I have never tagged another persons discussion Angel. I see we have the option to. I may do it if there are not enough tags perhaps, but otherwise no.

I didn't know we could tag anyone else's writing, and doubt I ever would
