My pig loves to eat lottery tickets!

I am a huge pig fan!
So, when I saw this cute clear glass pig jar with a cork a few years ago, I had to buy it! If I recall correctly, I purchased this from my local arts and crafts store for a good price - no more than say $8 bucks.
I had no clue what I would be storing in the pig at the moment, but I decided to store my "losing" lottery tickets. This pig loves to eat lottery tickets.. How many lottery tickets to the winner? No idea, currently working on that. But not really.
This is one of the purchases that I don't necessarily need but I buy. One of my new goals is to stop buying unnecessary items.
Do you have any jars that you buy and just don't know what to fill them up with? I also have a heart glass jar that I fill up with fortune cookie messages!

Belongs to me!

I like the idea of saving the fortune cookie messages. I am not sure I'd save losing lottery tickets. I do love the piggy jar though, it's cute!
I save receipts too much, does that count?

Lol, I had no idea what to store and at that time I had a bunch of lottery tickets. I may think of something else now.
And oh.... I keep receipts too in shoe boxes though.

That little pig is cute! At first, I thought you really have a pig as a pet which eats your lottery tickets.
I used to buy these "unnecessary" stuffs when I was younger, perhaps before I had my children. Things just changed after becoming a mother or perhaps stay-at-home mom. Besides want to live within budget, I'd like to have a more simplified home, as organizing the stuffs in my home takes so much time!
But one thing good is that my "unnecessary stuffs" that I've bought throughout these years have become my children's toys.
I like the idea of filling up with fortune cookie messages, though I don't have any fortune cookie messages. I made a jar, "happy jar" together with my son last year. We wrote about what made us happy on that day, and put the heart shaped paper into the "happy jar".

@infatuatedbby That's a good title!
I liked the happy jar idea, but after some time, when I was busy with other things, we stopped writing message and feed the jar.
We wrote the message together, so we knew what both of us wrote about.

Haha, my title is just a little tiny bit misleading.
And that is good all the unnecessary stuff is now your children's toys! And I love that "happy" jar you made with your son. That is a very cute idea. Do you sometimes go to the jar and read the messages to him too?

That is adorable!. I am heading to the thrift store tomorrow, and they usually have some neat things there. I have been looking for a few jar type things to store things in.

Hope you find what you're looking for at the thrift store. Update us if you buy anything. I'm so amused to see how other thrift stores has awesome stuff. Here, I don't see any good finds!
