Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh well know by the name King Tut. He was only 19 at his death his tomb was discovered in 1922 in Egypt's Valley of The Kings. There were many priceless items found in his tomb. Tutankhamun's remains are still contained in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings at Luxor, Egypt. Certain strange events are said to have happened after the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb and removal of items from it. The media at the time put this down to The Curse of Tutankhamun or the Pharaoh's Curse. Scientist's have tried to determine if his death was accidential or was it murder.

And recently 8 have been send to trial, in Egypt, because the beard of the King Tut mask was accidentally knocked off and hastily glued on with epoxy and damaged during the amateurish repair work. Now let's see what happens to those eight.

@LadyDuck How interesting as I hadn't heard about this mask and being glued back on.

@LadyDuck That must be painstaking work to remove the expoxy glue and do the professional work on the mask.

@Marcyaz Now a professional staff must take care to remove the epoxy glue and do a professional work to repair the mask.

Yeah the poor kid. Dying at 19, yet being such a huge figure in history. Just his name is interesting alone. I love Egyptology, but no time to be learning.

Museums spotlighted a tour of his tomb and other items--it was sold out here months before it actually got here!

@GreatMartin That is something I would have loved to have seen and seems a lot of people were interested in seeing that. Sold out months in advance wow that is saying something.

@amadeo Very interesting to find out he was a young child when he became the pharaoh and then to die at such a young age also.

I sometimes find it funny that we can solve a murder or come extremely close because we have technology and yet we have crimes that are new and can't be solved at all.

@lokisdad it is very strange that we can't seem to solve todays crimes yet ones from another century can be solved.

I LOVE anything to do with the Egyptian era. I saw the King Tut mask a couple of years ago as well as so many other things from back then. Was absolutely amazing. Standing and looking at a real Mummy was just incredible. Was behind glass but I wished so badly that I could have been even closer to it.

@VivaLaDani13 When I was a young teenager I would walk to the museum in our area and the mummies were what I always liked to see along with the art work they had there.

@VivaLaDani13 AT the time when I went I was a youngster and I don't recall ever having to pay but I would think now things have changed. I know longer live in that town or State so I have no idea but I know I loved going there and just looking at the different objects there.

@Marcyaz That is so cool. I wish I could go everyday to the museum in general to see some cool things but it's not very close to my house and costs too much money if I went every day.

His tomb, in the Valley of the Kings, is empty. The Cairo Museum has some of what remains of his tomb. Much of it was stolen. I have been to both places and went into his tomb. Empty!

@DianneN I imagine a lot of things were stolen from his tomb as it is said there were many valuable items there.
