What Goes Around, Comes Around ~~. Condo On The Beach

We Iike to get away in the winter for a few weeks. Our destination is always some place warm and sandy. We are retired.
We waited too long to find a warm place in Soith Florida but used Airbnb to find a place to relax. We wanted a month and while looking for an apartment or condo we saw everything from mansions for hundreds of thousands dollars to dumps that we wouldn't touch for next to nothing.
We decided on a condo on the beach with a view. It cost less for a month here than two weeks in a resort last year cost, and we have a beautiful place (small city with three State Parks) to explore.
The condo was smaller than we thought it would be but now it feels like home. One whole wall is mirrored in the living/dinning room which makes the place feel bigger, the bedroom is nothing to write home about but the bed is comfortable, the bathroom spacious. The kitchen is a joke. A joke with everything we need so we just don't go in there together. (Very small)
The wall to the deck is all glass. The view is outstanding looking over the Gulf of Mexico.
Almost 50 years ago, our first apartment as a married couple in Kansas was exactly like this place, compact, comfortable, and clean.
But without the breathtaking view.
Any cycles in your life come and go around ?

@PainsOnSlate Yes that is small, but you won't be spending too much time in it, will you?

After the first hour or so we were used to it and comfortable here, with that view, it's hard to be unhappy

Where I live in Ontario, the only interesting sound was rushing water through the revine after a heavy rain.. The 24/7 rolling of the waves is joyful. But I know it is a temporary thing, I love Canada and would never leave it for a beach.. At least not yet...

I think most of us have gone full cycle at least once. It isn't true that you can't go home again....
FL is one place we've never considered living in. I'm on pins and needles enough in TN worrying about tornadoes, I don't want to have to worry about hurricanes and tornadoes! A few weeks on vacation is a different matter!

@PainsOnSlate We own land all over east Tennessee and had wanted to build..now we're trying to sell., but it's not family land so we have no ties to it at all.

My dad owned land ( no house) that I inherited, we've driven but it but have no interest in building here. We are happy in Canada.

No worries. We are have homes in Connecticut and Florida and get hurricanes in both places. We are heavily insured. We have enough family and friends to live with if disaster ever strikes while we rebuild. We bought land in Naples, FL the first year we were married. Great investment, but sold it because we love the southeast of Florida.

I did bring my camera but the photos I show from here are done with the iPad, the real photos will have to wait until I get back to my computer...I'm looking forward to the parks...waiting for a sunny day.

Your condo is beautiful so beautiful with that view Paints. You are blessed, tho I know you worked all the years and deserve it.
Long way from Kansas for sure.
Cycles in my life are still scattered...moved a lot and no order to my life.

I certainly could put up with small space for a view like that. I'd probably spend 99% of my time on the balcony, beach or at the pool

Our first apartment had a tiny kitchen too. We could touch the counters on opposite walls at the same time. The fridge door almost touched the counter on the other side of it. At least you have a good view to go with the cozy condo. Enjoy your vacation.

@PainsOnSlate Ours had a solid wall on the end, so you couldn't walk through it. Got a bit cozy if we were both in there together. Thankfully we only lived there about a year.

Thank you, we are enjoying our vacation. This kitchen is the same, so small you could almost touch all the walls from the middle. Fortunately one walk is a pass through so it's not claustrophobic ...

@PainsOnSlate I agree. I spend as much time in nature as I can. I'm lucky to have a job that has me taking kids out hiking.

I love the sound of a ranch, it must be heavenly. The photo is beautiful. I still camp every summer but just for two weeks but it feels so good to live with Mother Nature.

It's warm here but not warm enough to go into the Gulf. We do have a heated pool we are heading that way now.

It is a wonderful location where your rented condo lies. I love it for its being next to the beach with such a beautiful view. Last summer I went to Auckland, NZ for more than twenty days and I stayed in my homestay's during the time I stayed there. My homestay took me to the beach nearby and I could not help loving it. Life near the beach is nice and quiet for people who love a peaceful life instead of a city life, nice and busy and noisy.
