Afternoon Delight with company

Good afternoon,folks.Just back from our luncheon date.
It was a very nice afternoon as we always enjoy being with them.
We some wine and snacks before the meal.
Polenta for me was bloody awful.Did not like the taste at all.
I apologize to my host and sorry I cannot eat this.I try it.
It was served with portabello mushroom on top.
That was good as I ate around it.The salad and bread was good enough for me.
Mike ate it.Well he would as did not want the host to feel bad I guess.
Dessert was baked apple and this was good.
But look we had a very nice time and we enjoy their company.
How was your day?
Polenta is a form of cornmeal.It is eaten in northern Italy in place or rice and pasta

It is not easy to eat something that you don't care for. I always try something before I decide if I like it or not. If I don't I will tell whomever made it that I gave it a valiant try but wasn't to my liking. Better to be honest and avoid having the same thing made the next time you are invited to dine with a friend.

@amadeo That's all you can do. I would never force anyone to eat something they do not like. But, at least give it a try first.

I had a delicious Italian dish for dinner chicken contanina. I am not a polenta fan either.

@amadeo It is chunks of white meat chicken, Italian sausage, mushrooms, peppers and onions in a balsamic vinegar based sauce. it is wonderful.
