OK then. I’m glad some of you decided to accept the challenge. It’s interesting to find out what other people like in the way of food and songs and movies, etc. Take the challenge. Write your own post and tell us what you like. My favorite animal that starts with the letter G: Giraffe. We recently went to a ZOO in Norfolk, Virginia. We had to go up a long flight of steps, just to get face to face with the giraffes. I really never realized how tall they are. Amazing. My favorite color: Gray. I have this suit made of a very soft material and I always get compliments when I wear it. It’s very comfortable and the color gray, although neutral, can be brightened up with a colorful scarf. I used to teach scarf tying lessons when I did my jewelry parties. I can show you 30+ ways to tie a scarf. My favorite vegetable: Green beans. I really like them when prepared with a little crumbled bacon. Fresh green beans right from the garden are best, but you can also doctor up canned green beans. My favorite novel: “Grapes of Wrath” A sad tale (John Steinbeck) about the Joad family, where drought and a dust storm drove many people from Oklahoma to California in the early 30s. Henry Fonda played the lead role in the movie. My favorite famous person: Gregory Peck. I’ll mention him again here, because I really do like him as an actor. I’ve been trying to think of the name of a movie where he played a very good role. I’ll have to look it up. I’d like to see that movie again.

I read the Grapes of Wrath but can't remember anything about it now. He wrote some pretty dark stuff as I recall.

Grapes of Wrath was not "dark" as much as it was SAD, that the families had to leave there homes with practically nothing and travel to California in order to find work. Their trip across the western states involved a lot of situations, of course.

@IreneVincent I remember Of Mice and Men and The Red Pony. I have the latter on DVD with a very young Robert Mitchum in it.
