If You Had One Week To Live...

If the doctor told you that you had a week to live, what would you do first?
What would you do that week?
A person should really get all of his affairs in order and keep them that way, because you just never know what could happen to you. The next day is never promised to anyone.
Do you have a “living will?” Do you have a Medical Directive? I carry one in my wallet, so that there is no question as to what I want done, if I cannot speak for myself in the case of an accident or illness.
There are other legal things that you need to take care of also. I posted something on here quite a while ago about making copies of all your important papers and putting them somewhere safe. Copies of all my things are in my son’s safe.
A person should think about what needs to be done, to prepare for any emergency. Young or old, your family should know what to do, in case you are injured or become ill or die. What you want done needs to be written down and notarized.
I used to be a Notary Public in North Carolina, but did not keep up with it when I moved back to Virginia.
If you haven’t taken care of these things, don’t delay. Do it asap.

Too many people wait too late to take care of these things and then the family is left to make decisions for them and sometimes that makes for a lot of stressful situations among the family members.

@IreneVincent That is very true which is one reason why we're trying to downsize as much as possible too.
