Writing sites that are still doing well

While many writing sites have closed down through the years, there are many writing sites that are still doing well. Over the years, I have seen Today, Associated Content, Helium, Suite101, Bubblews, and other sites closed down. However, some sites are still doing well. Hubpages is one of the oldest and still very profitable. Infobarrel, and Expertscolumn are still paying. The minimum cashout from Infobarrel is $50. I think the minimum for Expertscolumn is still $5.

It is good for members when they write for sites that are active for a long time. I have lost in many ways when the sites close down even without proper warning - siva

I always keep a copy of the content in Word document. I have too many experiences with writing sites closing down. it has become a habit to write in Word document, and I can do a spell check before I copy and paste the content online.

@scheng1 I have been doing this for some time. But I feel sad to lose contact with friends when sites close down. And the many interactions too - siva

Interesting to read that Expertscolumn is still doing well. I think I had one pay out of $5 from them when I belonged there, but then they seemed to deteriorate.

@scheng1 I no longer worry about how much I'm earning. I'm here because I like the people.

Many make a decent amount still to this day on Hubpages. I am most familiar with that one friend, but do not write on there at all and never have.

Your account is still around. You may have to request for new password to access the account. I am sure you have earned something.

I think you are not into writing for income. Some writers in Hubpages make full time income in the range from 3000 per month. Some are good at using Amazon links to sell products related to their articles.

@scheng1 This is interesting - to make $3,000 a month is no joke from a writing site! siva

I have heard of both of them but do not write for either of them.

It is good to focus, so that you can build up a portfolio of profitable content, and make many friends who can help you. I do not think those who jump from one site to another are making much.

It is sad that many good writing sites are closed down and very few are running still. But now a days I am not writing anywhere since all the sites are paying very less. Since I am very old member of our mylot site I am still here

I haven't wrote on hubpages in quite some time now. There's writing sites popping up and perhaps some are worth checking out. I remember Associated Content. I wrote over there as well. I must admit that I miss Bubblews though.

I miss Bubblews more than Associated Content. I earned a bit from Associated Content before they stopped paying international writers. Right after that, it was sold to Yahoo.

I hadn't heard of Expertscolumn, so I took a look. By their short list of authors, seems like they are a new site. In my brief look I didn't see anything that distinguishes them from the sites that have been failing right and left, but I'll check back maybe in a few months to see how they're doing.

It is not a new site. It is similar to Mylot in the sense that they had stopped paying for a period, and many writers left during that time.

This is the second writing site I joined. First was Bubblews.
